I arrived in Mexico City at the end of June with the idea of taking a six-week course. 5 months and 3 courses later, I’m just about ready to leave. I’ve never been a great student, and while I studied a lot for the first course, and a good amount for the second, I didn’t study much during this final one. I’ve had a lovely time being off my bike, made some great friends and seen a side of Mexico that I never could have without the break, but it’s time to hit the road.
Pedro, who spent 6 weeks up in San Miguel, came down to DF and has taken a couple of Spanish courses. While neither of us is fluent, we can now definitely communicate a lot better than we started to study. The following map is an idea of our approximate route to Cancun, although as always it’s open to being changed. Pedro has a flight out of Cancun on the 28th of February so that’s our frame. The idea is to get to Acapulco for Christmas, but who knows how it will all go!
